Research interests and experience
I have a general interest in aquatic ecology, freshwater fish conservation, and the use of GIS in these fields, with an emphasis on lotic systems; species distributions and biogeography. I’m especially interested in fish movement, dispersal and migration.
I have research experience as a graduate student, and in both the NGO and Government settings in my home country of Mexico. I have worked on the topics of historical biogeography, water quality, industrial water pollution, introduced species, and riparian vegetation, mostly but not exclusively in freshwater systems in Central Mexico.
